              Three-fourth of earth was covered by water. Water is a vital renewable natural resources. It was in the primitive oceans that life began almost 3.5 billion years back. Fresh water accounts for only about 2.7 per cent. Nearly 70 per cent of this occurs as ice sheets and glaciers. Only 1 per cent of fresh water is available for human use. Therefore fresh water is the most precious substances on earth.                                                        Human use huge amounts of  water not only for drinking and washing ,but also in the process of agriculture, industries, generating electricity are other usages. Increasing population and increasing urbanization are the major factors leading to shortage in supply of fresh water either due to drying up of water source or water pollution.                                                                                 

Water scarcity is the major problem facing by today's world.  Even though water is a renewable resources its overuse and pollution make it unfit for use. But we can control water pollution by treating agricultural chemical and industrial effluents suitably before releasing them in water bodies  and we can control overuse of water by saving it.   So , please SAVE WATER because a drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man. If we waste the water today, we are going to live on the desert tomorrow.
